PRODUCT + FURNITURE + MATERIAL STUDIES

Persia’s design practice revolves around exploring the use of materials and how they can be experienced in new contexts. She also has a strong interest in sustainability, and how objects can be designed for functional and emotional longevity. Persia’s work explores how tactility in design can create a lasting experience for the user, and provide a connection between people and objects. In a world that is digitized and mass-produced, intimacy with objects is becoming rare, but increasingly special.

CHAIR

Flex Series contradicts wood’s traditional sturdiness and rigidity by encouraging the user to rethink how materials can be mobilized. The curved veneer seat mimics the compression of a spring cushion and initiates a new, dynamic experience for the sitter.
