PRODUCT + FURNITURE + VISUAL ARTS

Jayleen is a multidisciplinary artist and designer, who focuses on incorporating locally found materials into her designs and art practice. By using these materials, she intends to increase attachment to her pieces through the story behind the materials or the location of where they came from. With her new found love of geology, she hopes to inspire others to love the Earth as she does, through a combination of art and design, because rocks ROCK!

The concept for my projects, including this one, is the idea of using found materials that have a story behind them. Whether it’s rusted farm equipment or a rock from southern Alberta; using these materials animates the objects.
