SOCIAL DESIGN + SUSTAINABLE DESIGN + URBAN DESIGN

christenoakes@gmail.com

Christen is interested in how social and environmental sustainability, especially in the design of urban spaces, can foster healthy communities for all. She believes in working hard to fully empathize with all people affected by a design, and enjoys working collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams to reach solutions to complex problems with diverse stakeholders. She isn’t sure where she’s headed, but she hopes it is somewhere she can make life better for people.

Q: How might we retrofit Beaver House Park to become socially inclusive?
A: We might communicate with all affected demographics, implement interventions that facilitate cohabitation, and develop a plan for implementation in other spaces.
